Pentecost Service and Shared Lunch 28 May 2023
We returned to this, now beautifully restored, little chapel for the first time for four years and were, once again, invited by Simon and Monica to bring lunch to share at their domaine. Sadly, current data protection rules make it difficult to publish photographs but here are a few, including one of a birthday cake Martha brought for us all to share to celebrate her birthday. We were sad that the climb to the chapel is increasingly difficult for some but the thirty or so who made it were very happy to be back at Roquessels. Simon and Monica generously donated €120 to our chaplaincy from sale of their wines during lunch.
Service at Roquessels and Shared Lunch 26 June 2016
On 26 June 2016, we held our second Sunday of the month service in the 12th century chapel of Our Lady. We followed the service with a shared lunch hosted again by Simon & Monica.
The Chapel of Our Lady of Roquessels sits adjacent to the ruins of a chateau dating from around the same time. The chapel features a number of beautiful Romanesque windows, thick walls on three sides and a Roman baptismal.
